How to Use Your Breath to Show Up Confidently in Your Business (or Life!)

Confidence is key when it comes to showing up in your business or life. But what if I told you that you already have the power to be more confident within you, and it’s as simple as breathing? Your breath can be your greatest ally in shifting your mindset, grounding your energy, and stepping into your full potential.

I recently dove into this topic on my podcast, and now I’m sharing some key takeaways with you on how you can use your breath to show up confidently in any area of your life.

1. Understand the Power of Your Breath

The breath is not just for survival—it’s a tool for transformation. When you breathe consciously, you activate your parasympathetic nervous system, helping you calm your body and mind. This is crucial in moments of self-doubt or anxiety, which can often creep up when you’re about to make a big decision or take a bold step in your business.

By tuning into your breath, you can shift your mental state from overwhelm to clarity, which helps you show up with confidence in any situation. It’s like hitting the reset button for your nervous system.

2. Practice Deep Breathing to Reconnect with Your Power

When you feel nervous or unsure, you might notice your breath become shallow or rapid. This is your body’s natural response to stress. To counter this, practice deep breathing techniques that help slow down your heart rate and ground your energy.

A simple technique you can use is the 4-7-8 breath:

  • Inhale through your nose for 4 counts.
  • Hold your breath for 7 counts.
  • Exhale through your mouth for 8 counts.

This method not only helps relax your nervous system but also sends a signal to your body that everything is okay. By practicing this before important calls, meetings, or moments of self-doubt, you’ll feel more centered and ready to show up as your confident self.

Breathwork is an incredible tool for releasing mental blocks that hold you back from stepping into your power. By consciously breathing through certain patterns, you can release stored emotions and limiting beliefs that keep you from showing up fully.

5. Use Your Breath to Anchor Yourself in the Present Moment

Try this simple grounding breath:
Inhale deeply for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, and exhale for 4 counts. As you do, repeat a positive affirmation, like “I am confident,” or “I trust myself.” This will help you stay centered and focused on what truly matters, allowing you to show up as the confident, capable person you are.
