As the year comes to a close, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the books that left a lasting impression on me. From thrilling mysteries to powerful self-help insights, each book brought something unique to the table.
Here’s my countdown of the top ten books I read this year, starting from number 10 and ending with my absolute favorite.
Emily Henry never fails to blend humor, heart, and relatable characters in her stories. Funny Story was no exception, bringing lighthearted moments that balanced emotional depth. It was the perfect way to start my list with a feel-good read.
If you love psychological thrillers that keep you guessing until the very end, Never Lie is a must-read. McFadden’s sharp storytelling and unexpected twists had me turning pages late into the night.
As someone who navigates both creative and business landscapes, The Emotional Entrepreneur provided practical, heartfelt advice that resonated with me deeply. Scout Sobel’s book is perfect for those looking for guidance on balancing ambition with emotional well-being.
Charlie Donlea’s knack for weaving suspenseful plots shines in Some Choose Darkness. The dual timelines and well-drawn characters made for an engrossing read. It’s an ideal pick for those who enjoy dark, intricate mysteries.
Rock Paper Scissors was an enthralling psychological thriller filled with twists and a plot that played with your mind. Alice Feeney’s storytelling kept me on edge, questioning every character’s motives.
The first part of an emotional duology, Saving 6 captivated me with its raw portrayal of relationships and struggles. Chloe Walsh’s characters felt real, and their pain and triumphs made this a truly moving read.
Following Saving 6, Redeeming 6 wrapped up the story in a powerful way. Walsh’s writing hit even deeper emotional chords, making it impossible to put down. The sequel delivered closure and unforgettable moments.
The Tommen Boys series is just a must-read in general.
This year, I aimed to not only enjoy fiction but also grow my mindset. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind taught me invaluable lessons about financial habits and wealth-building. T. Harv Eker’s perspective was inspiring and actionable, making it helpful for my entrepreneurial mindset.
Another brilliant mystery by Charlie Donlea, Twenty Years Later combined past and present narratives to reveal a complex story full of twists. It was gripping from start to finish and showcased Donlea’s mastery in storytelling.
Topping my list is The Big Leap, a book that fundamentally shifted the way I view personal and professional growth. I’ve already talked about this book so much, but it’s just THAT good.
Gay Hendricks dives deep into the concept of the “upper limit problem” and how we can break through our barriers to achieve greater success and happiness. This read left a profound impact on me, making it my number one recommendation.
Reading has the power to transform, inspire, and entertain. Each of these books added something meaningful to my year, whether it was suspenseful excitement or profound insights. I hope my top ten list sparks interest and maybe even leads you to your next great read.
